Purpose of the
Grant Program

Grants from legitimate, established organizations are made for the purpose of benefitting veterans and/or their families. Please read this entire page before sending in any applications. Incorrect or incomplete applications will be rejected.

These projects may offer direct support or services to veterans and their families, or may serve to educate and involve the public in veterans experiences and affairs. Grants should not be submitted for memorials, monuments, or travel.

Grants are NOT awarded to individuals

Submittal Deadlines

Applications may be submitted at any time. Grants are reviewed on a quarterly cycle corresponding to the calendar quarters ending 30 March, 20 June, 30 September, and 31 December.

The submittal date will be based on the postmark. Proposals will be evaluated in the quarter after they are received. VVBF is not responsible for delays in receiving grant requests due to unforeseen incidents.

Applicants will be notified, in writing, of the decision approximately 8 to 10 weeks after the deadline for each cycle.

Completeness

The proposal must be complete in all applications. Do not assume in any application that the reviewing committee has knowledge of your proposal even if you have submitted before. If a response is not applicable, then mark it as not applicable, but do not skip it.

The application is a pdf form that requires Acrobat Reader to view. It can be filled out in Acrobat Reader, then printed, signed, and mailed.

Required Proposal Package

The following MUST be included in the package:

  • VVBF Grant Proposal Cover Sheet
  • VVBF Grant Proposal
  • Financial Statement for current year
  • Proof of Nonprofit status (if applicable)
  • Six (6) complete signed packages of the application must be submitted to:
